Women’s Draw: Sabalenka Strolls, Świątek Digs In

Top seed Aryna Sabalenka was the most emphatic winner of the day, cruising past McCartney Kessler 6-1, 7-6 to reach the third round with the minimum of fuss. Her power and depth off both wings continue to make her the woman to beat on the grass.

Third seed Iga Świątek had a trickier afternoon, dropping the second set to Taylor Townsend before regrouping to win 6-1, 2-6, 6-3. The mid-match wobble will give her camp something to work on, but the eventual straight-sets-plus-one outcome keeps her firmly in title contention.
