AFI Announces Indian Athletics Series Legs 13, 14 and 15: Hanamkonda, Panchkula and Meerut to Host

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has released the tentative competition schedules for the next three legs of the Indian Athletics Series, giving athletes and fans a clear roadmap for the busy domestic calendar ahead. Legs 13, 14 and 15 will take the series across three states in a fortnight of top-level domestic competition.

Where and when

  • Leg 13 — Hanamkonda, Telangana: 18 August 2026
  • Leg 14 — Panchkula, Haryana: 25 August 2026
  • Leg 15 — Meerut, Uttar Pradesh: 2 September 2026

All three schedules are tentative (Version 1.0, dated 16 July 2026) and include the complete event-wise order of running, scheduled timings, call-room reporting times and the progression of heights for the vertical jumps.

What each leg looks like

At Hanamkonda, the programme opens with the men’s and women’s 1500m finals at 7:30am and runs through to the 800m races in the evening session, with the long jump, high jump, javelin throw, shot put and triple jump finals spread across both sessions.

At Panchkula, the action begins early with the men’s and women’s 5000m finals at 6:00am, and the day’s programme includes the hammer throw, pole vault, triple jump, discus throw and long jump finals alongside the sprints and 400m races.

At Meerut, the programme starts with the women’s and men’s 800m races at 7:00am and closes with the 1500m races in the evening, with the hammer throw, long jump, high jump, shot put, javelin throw and triple jump finals held across the two sessions.

Note for athletes: call-room timings

The AFI has reminded competitors to note the call-room reporting times, which vary by event: 30 minutes before the scheduled start for track events, 40 minutes for hurdles races, 50 minutes for other field events, 70 minutes for high jump and 90 minutes for pole vault.

Why the series matters

The Indian Athletics Series is a cornerstone of the domestic season, giving athletes across the country regular, structured competitive opportunities to hit qualifying standards, build form and stake their claim for national and international selection. With the schedules now confirmed for Hanamkonda, Panchkula and Meerut, athletes can plan their build-up with certainty as the season heads into a crucial phase.
