Men’s Singles: Fery Makes History

The headline act belonged to Arthur Fery. The British wild card stunned former world number three Grigor Dimitrov in a dramatic five-setter, 7-5, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6(7), to become the first wild card to reach the men’s quarterfinals at Wimbledon since Nick Kyrgios in 2014. Italy’s Flavio Cobolli also impressed, beating fifth seed Alex de Minaur 7-5, 7-6(4), 6-3, while Novak Djokovic continued his pursuit of more history by defeating Roman Safiullin to reach the last eight.
