A large entry has earned the sport an extra day of competition, and with £10 tickets on offer, organisers are promising a new format designed to inject fun and an upbeat atmosphere into proceedings. Para Powerlifting to claim the first gold

The honour of the first gold medal of the Games will go to the “superhuman strength” athletes of Para Powerlifting, as weightlifting’s world elite enter the competition.
